Michele has enjoyed a career in science and STEM administration, where communicating with clear and compelling language has been essential to her success. Whether conducting research, participating in creating grant proposals, negotiating research contracts, or managing a research institute, communication efficiency and clarity is a priority. Working with scientists and engineers requires a commitment to being clear and concise, as well as an appreciation of the abstract and absurd. As a crossword puzzle maniac, she fits right in.
With Zuula, Michele brings her right-brain thinking to help keep our operations humming. Her experience with process improvement, program assessment, and organizational restructuring give her the tools needed to help identify growth and productivity challenges, and brainstorm solutions. She also happens to be Meghan Codd Walker’s mother, meaning she brings the dedication of a doting parent.
I love explaining scientific and complex ideas and principles to nonscientists. This can only be done effectively if the description is clear, thorough and jargon free.
Share my love of science at the Science Museum of Virginia, cook for my family and a nonprofit group, read voraciously, and garden only when I absolutely must.
